This is how conservatives percieve transgenderism, and I hope it's immediately obvious here what makes this conservative rhetoric rather than leftist feminist rhetoric.
The whole tone of this is off; the focus here is on the corruption of the individual - there is no commentary on the moral consequences of the trans person's behaviour; it is simply assumed that the mere presence of mental illness is in itself a corruption of the natural order and that bad moral consequences inherently follow.
The first warning sign is explicitly the word 'deviants' but implicitly the words 'mentally ill'. The word deviant in and of itself signals to some corruption of the natural, and the natural is good, therefore deviancy is itself a bad thing. The badness doesn't come from the act of rape, or of deception, or of invasion of privacy, or of control of others, but rather the lack of conformity to social norms. And this combines with 'mentally ill' to plant inside the reader's mind the concept of mental illness as an explicit, conscious choice to be evil - to be a 'mentally ill deviant' is to be an aberration of the natural and good. The conservative mindset is that there are simply good people and bad people - the belief is that goodness and badness as inherent, intrinsic and ontological, instead of being a complex web of circumstance (privilege included). They want to have their cake and eat it too - they want to believe some people are 'just' bad, but also that their badness is entirely their choice. This allows for rapid, easy and guiltless dehumanisation, which is useful for a society with a prison-industrial complex. Thus 'mentally ill deviants' takes on a meaning of intrinsic and unpreventable but ultimately purposeful badness purely by association.
This is how dogwhistles work; calling someone 'mentally ill' derogatarily isn't a particularly nice thing to say, but the context here means it signals to a core belief about what mental illness is - the 'illness' is being described not how we would describe it in a factual, neutral sense, but rather as a sickness of the soul, a corruption of the personhood. The crimes committed by the 'mentally ill deviant', then, are used as 'proof' as the inherent corrupted evilness of the person doing them - in essence, the actual harm they've caused and the person hurt by them are almost secondary to the real ideological point: that this person is a Bad, Corrupting, Evil force. The concept of why we have morality at all is ultimately irrelevant to 'the bigger picture'.
The second major warning sign of his use of '2 genders, male female'. Any radfem worth their salt doesn't care jack shit about gender; we address the material reality of biological sex. This man does not care about morality or about the oppression of women; this man only cares about conformity, about accepting the status quo. He is simply asserting the status quo because the conservative mind accepts the status quo as fact, purely on the evidence that it's the status quo, in a closed feedback loop. There are 2 genders because they are, some people are bad because they are bad. That's the underpinning ideology of conservativism: an unquestioning assumption of the self-evident nature of the goodness of things.
And then of course, the last line. The last line exists to sum up all this person has to really say on the subject. Not to be corny but the use of 'shrink' here really evokes an old-school mindset. This isn't about visiting a therapist to resolve trauma; this is about visiting a 'shrink' to fix you. I guess you can say that this is a kinder approach than simply categorising someone as 'bad' and 'evil' and locking them away, but that's all it is; the fundamental of the mindset is still there, only in this course the person is given grace by the belief that the corruption inside of them didn't come from their soul but rather from some metaphysical social evil (if you want to be explicitly christian about it, you'd call it the devil). Ultimately it betrays the same lack of curiosity about why people make choices - if you're mentally ill (indeterminate) you need to be 'fixed'. Right-wingers claim to be all about individual freedom but they show no interest in understanding people as individuals. You're either good or bad, and that's it.
A short quippy reply to a tumblr post doesn't really sum up someone's entire belief system, but I think the lack of empathy to anyone here really jumps out. Considering I saw this comment on a radfem post, I found it interesting how upon reading it I immediately thought 'oh that's a right-wing guy' and went to the blog and it's exactly the kind of alt-right conspiracy shit you expect. It's a fun and enlightening exercise to parse why I so quickly identified it as that.

Weekly reminder that it's not okay to illegally download and distribute free copies of recently-published books from a niche market where the authors depend directly on monthly royalties to pay their bills.
Books are a luxury and if you can't afford a title, save your pennies or check out a copy from your local library. There are plenty of free resources and public domain texts available in the meantime.
It's worth mentioning that plenty of authors in the witchcraft and pagan markets make a point of providing free resources and advice to the community on a regular basis, myself included. To take that information and then turn around and steal from us on top of it is not only petty, it's cruel, especially considering the financial hardship we're all facing in the current economy.
Download overpriced textbooks and public domain titles, not witch books.

had to watch the new Folding Ideas video twice, read all of the comments, watched Lady Emily's video, watch an AVGN video for the first time (sorry i'm gen z), failed to get through Wavelength (1967), read a bunch about Wavelength (1967), and read through a bunch of Twitter comments, but i think i'm finally understanding the artistry in "i don't know james rolfe"
narratively it's dan olson revealing the rorschach test of media analysis, i.e. there was no way for him to critically analyze james rolfe's career without revealing all of his own obsessions and insecurities, just as james rolfe reveals himself through his film and video game reviews. this concept is lampshaded by the highlighting of Wavelength (1967), an extremely minimal and obtuse film that engages with the idea of inattention — meaning that bored or negative responses to the work are still responses to the theme. which is cool.
and it's cool that criticisms of dan olson's video include people upset that he hyper-focused on specific elements of james rolfe's life and not other, arguably more important elements, such as the Monster Madness controversy or james's time in special ed — almost as though the character of dan olson is cherrypicking aspects of james rolfe's life that are the most personally wounding to him. aspects that expose dan's insecurities relating to filmmaking and failed dreams, expressed through the vessel of AVGN.
but meta narratively, the video becomes a rorschach test for the audience — your response to the video reveals your own obsessions and insecurities in how you relate to dan olson. why does someone find the video mean-spirited? why does someone else think the video is self-serving? why do I feel so awkward watching dan attempt a deeper, more abstract creative work?
where does dan olson end and the character of dan olson as a media critic begin? where do you as an audience member end, and YOU begin?
it's projection all the way down

For the second fucking time this year I'm finding someone who has stolen my art from deviantart, edited out my watermark (likely with AI), and stolen it for sale. They uploaded it to Redbubble, where I literally have the art uploaded myself.
TheMemePlug is the thief, Galaxxi is me.
I only noticed it because the stolen art was featured in a youtuber's video, I didn't even notice the weird discoloration (on the right, over the arm and wing) where my watermark is on deviantart.
Dude this is pissing me off like you wouldn't believe

I think it’d be funny if, instead of post-antidote Shinichi and Ran having trouble and trust issues with secrets and angst and all that, with him not wanting to tell her about Conan or having issues after that, it’s just. Well.
He physically cannot keep a secret from her anymore. It just. Blurts out. Because he has spent over a year of his life keeping secrets and lying, two of the things he detests doing the most - especially to Ran - it is such a relief when he finally doesn’t need to keep such a huge secret anymore that he just spills and. Doesn’t stop. It’s such a burden lifted off of him and the thought of keeping secrets from her again just makes his skin crawl.
The first thing he does as soon as he’s completely cured and the BO is taken down is go over and confess everything, every heart wrenching moment of anxiety and paranoia, every thought process, every moment he almost spilled the beans, the moment he went from barely being held back from telling her to actively hiding, everything. And in the process everything else he couldn’t tell her but was holding onto for various people (now that there are no longer any covers that can be blown, well. No reason to keep them from her.)
He can keep it until the relative safety of his (her, their, whatever) house, and then it just. Pours out like a waterfall. Ran very quickly realizes she doesn’t have to worry about Shinichi keeping secrets from her anymore because if he so much as has to keep a spur-of-the-moment gift store keychain from her, he gets these puppy eyes and she can see him struggling to not just. Blab right then and there. He starts fighting, she can see him visibly catch himself as he looks like he’s about to cry. If someone asks him to keep something from her he might actually cry.
He can’t do it y’all. He just can’t.
In the middle of a case? Sure. He’ll keep things from the culprits. But soon as he’s done the police don’t have to worry about him writing a report, because they just need to have someone nearby with a tape recorder because he’s giving they play-by-play of every minute detail to Ran because she may not have realized what he was thinking at exactly minute 34.25 of the case. It gets to the point where Ran has a tape recorder at home and she has a designated three hours she calls “spill time” where Shinichi tells her every case detail and vague secret he’s kept (or thinks he’s kept from her) that day.
Shinichi getting ready to propose? Literally takes everyone involved and their mothers to get him to not just straight up text and ask her the second he makes up his mind to ask (luckily not when he’s in front of Ran), everyone is running a truly unbelievable amount of interference, and honestly, Ran figured it out half an hour in but he’s trying so hard to make it special, she’ll let him have it.
Everyone becomes resigned to the fact that if you tell Shinichi something, Ran will guaranteed know by the end of the night.
(Agasa ends up making them ultra durable and ultra encrypted phones and tiny, portable white noise generators because Shinichi was about to have a meltdown one time when Ran was out of down and he couldn’t blab to her, and that other time they were both out of town but could only find a shady hotel to crash in)
(Yeah, there’s still issues on both sides, such as Shinichi’s lingering PTSD and paranoia and her own coming to terms with the Conan situation, but Ran thinks he’s kinda cute like this and despite everything, it’s nice to know that he genuinely hated keeping all that from her, even if it hurt her.)

This (almost) week on "Raxis screencapping people who've blocked him who he says he totally wants nothing to with," here he is not only not censoring my name yet again, he has also left a completely unrelated other person's name uncensored.
Tumblr media
(censoring done on my end)
Which, two things:
I was talking about the fandom, not the game, so nice going there with the media literacy you claim you have oodles of.
Is that a sockpuppet
Like that blue1lion6stan account. With the default pfp? That, after a bit of digging, has only been around since... May of this year? So, barely five months? And it has like.. two reblogs and four likes? In the span of, again, five months at the minimum?
Did like. Did Raxis accidentally out one of his sockpuppets
